Reality TV-THEY ARE REAL ALRIGHT-

Sometimes you wonder if "reality shows" are even a slightest bit true, much of their dialogue sound prepared, moreover the contestants more or less have degrees of attitude problem - not everyone on earth have attitude problems do they? i am really very tempted to just shout: THEY ARE REAL ALRIGHT!

Every now and then, you see another idol contest coming out -
be it american idol, singapore idol, anugerah, project superstar, world idol or even our very own Meridian idol- None can challenge the "REALITY" in the whole concept.
To start off, you might want to ask yourself:Where the hell is clay aiken now? the one who knocked many off their feets and received much media attention for quite some time...is most probably now lying on his piles of green hundred dollar bills while u are still here wondering what the hell hit you one year ago...and...where the hell is he now...

Idols that are born from "reality shows" are ironically hit by REALITY. And the reality is - no fame lasts forever if you hadn't put in much effort to attain them.

Moreover, these are no singing competition! they are POPULARITY competitions, but the very way of determining popularity is simply retarded...you might have guessed that the organisers are using the SMSes to gauge how the person's album will sell when his debut album is out. For those who sent ONE sms for his/her favourite contestant will most probably buy an album in his/her continuous support for the artiste. BUT! you are most probably not alien to the newspaper reports and interviews showing that people are paying hundreds of dollar sending SMSes to support their favourite "idol" some want them to be their husband, others simply worship them like Tua Peh Gong...NOW...is the purpose of the Voting not defeated? will you...after spending 200 SMSes...buy $4000 worth of CDs?(200x$20) like DUH....one CD is enough to last me forever...well unless they "Gai Ban"...

Reality TV not only showed us the real and non-virtual life of these contestants, they effortlessly put out and amplify the UGLY reality we live in...while on the mouth, many will say that they will never EVER...discriminate the handicapped and shall not despise them. So what is this that when Kelvin, (the blind contestant in project superstar) won, everyone just assumed that he won because of sympathy votes? How do you know those are sympathy votes? because you too are touched by the very bravery of this visually handicapped person stepping up against all odds and winning the competition? because you felt touched but decided to ignore his efforts and be a little bastard, spreading defaming remarks of his win?

what everyone has not been able to see is that by claiming that Kelvin's win is because of sympathy votes, you have just shown discrimination - although in a different form, but as hurting. Because you simply ignored the fact that the female contestant, Kelly, who also against the odds won. well those who know the truth will not say its "AGAINST THE ODDS" for you might have heard that Singapore poly (kelly's school) had a holiday on the very day of her competition so that the students of SP can go around passing flyers to help earn votes for kelly...so...where are the defaming remarks for kelly? i'm waiting.............

then in the end...you really realise, after making MANY defaming remarks of Kelvin, that even if your favourite contestant won...he will most probably disappear from the scenes in a couple of years...never to surface again...well maybe...he might just be lying at home...on HIS pile of golden coloured $100 notes....

by the way...i think the pulling down of points for Kelvin, and Kelly is most probably a strategic move by the Organisers...think about it...if their points are pulled down...many more people will try to help them, in hope of their favourite contestant winning...well...i guess it worked...either the fans supporting the other contestants did not see this...or maybe...they are just not "fierce" enough...haha

p.s. Kelvin really touched me, not all his singing, not all this efforts in performing and moving his eyes while singing but when he finally raised his hands high and rejoiced after the announcing of results. it surely meant alot...hardwork and determination pays off...

Another p.s. no hard feelings...for junyang supporters...this post is just an opinion of mine...*peace*
